Introduce yourself.
character basics.
Age: In appearance, 9 years old
Species: Virtual human
Birthplace: None. She was created in a computer lab
Movie: Wreck-It Ralph
Title: More Than Just a Glitch
Why: Why'd you pick this character? I've been seeking a child character and finally settled on Vanellope for her saucy personality. Plus it gives me a chance to get in on the virtual-character bandwagon, which I thought would prove interesting.

Character appearance (try to get at least 2 or 3 sentences for each section)
Facial description/mood expressions: Her enormous brown eyes, teeny buttonnose, and rosy cheeks would make Vanellope the most adorable of adorable children, if not for her usual snarky expression. She almost always wears a smile, but it is often a mocking one.
Clothing style: As a video game character, Vanellope always wears the same outfit: light green hoodie, short pleated skirt, and green tights with mis-matched stripes. Her shoes are somewhat clunky, and she prefers candy-shaped accessories.
Body build: Vanellope's head is much too large for her waif-like body. Despite her stubby arms and legs, she is very athletic and dexterous.
Any unique traits (optional) : Due to an enforced glitch in her program, Vanellope has the ability to vanish and reappear a few feet away. This "glitch" power comes on involuntarily and randomly when she is upset or distracted, but Van can control it almost perfectly if she really concentrates.

Original character analysis. (Everything must be in your own words! Please be thorough.)
Vanellope Von Schweetz has the mind and personality of a 9-year-old child, though she isn't really flesh and blood. Made of code, drawn in pixels, she looks and acts like a human girl. She loves to skip and play and rarely takes things too seriously.
Even when life goes wrong, Vanellope remains cheerful, ever hopeful that things will turn around for her. Homelessness, persecution, being ostracized, she's experienced them all, putting a smiling face on her troubles as much as possible. It takes a truly serious disaster to dampen her youthful spirits.
Mischievous in the extreme, the virtual princess loves to tease anyone of her acquaintance, though she means it in fun. She is actually very good at annoying others. If she herself is teased, Vanellope can take it as well as dish it out, as long as it's done in a spirit of play rather than malice.
She's a pretty good gadgeteer as well, able to cobble together a pedal car from spare candy parts. Vanellope's no MacGyver, but she can work reasonably well with her hands.
As a virtual human, Vanellope doesn't need food or sleep, though she can deal with either.
History: Vanellope Von Schweetz wasn't born, she was created as a character in a new video game, Sugar Rush. She was given a minimal backstory, that of the child princess of the candy kingdom, but with no family, parents, or past.
Her game was brand new in the arcade when it was hijacked by Turbo, the insanely-jealous racing character from the game of the same name.
He wanted to be king of the racers, but his own game was out of order (his own fault, actually), so Turbo entered Sugar Rush and altered its code, giving himself the new persona of King Candy and stealing the kingdom from Vanellope. He altered the memories of all the game's citizens so they believed their own ruler to be just another average citizen.
To make matters worse, Turbo gave the princess a glitch and encouraged the other racers to ostracize her. They complied with gusto, despising and bullying Vanellope, excluding her from every race and every part of their lives, making her an outcast in her own realm.
It took a golden hero medal from Wreck-It Ralph to enable Vanellope to finally enter a race. Even with no experience and only one night to practice, the girl proved to be a natural, quickly learning the ins and outs of racing well enough to give her a chance at winning. The other racers did their best to knock her out of the race, but Vanellope found she could use her glitching to advantage, dodging the traps and weapons of the others.
After an attack by cybugs that nearly destroyed the entire game world (ask me later), Vanellope finally crossed the finish line, winning her first-ever race. Little did she know this would reset the Sugar Rush game. The memories of every character were restored, and they knew, as Van did herself, that she was the rightful ruler of the Candy Kingdom, a role she quickly altered to a less-girly President Von Schweetz.
The former glitch ruled with cheerful compassion, forgiving even her worst enemies, though not above teasing them a little. But her reign was destined to be a short one.
Now a full-fleged racer, the girl soon became a favorite of the patrons of the arcade. They stood in line, not just to play the game, but specifically to choose Vanellope! And she loved every mile!
Just when Vanellope's life seemed perfect, she found herself somehow removed from the land of video games and transported to the real world.
And what a world it was! Filled with people, not programs, and a host of new places to explore. Because of her glitching, she'd never been able to leave Sugar Rush to visit other games, so travelling to a different world was a new and exciting experience for the Princess-turned-President. No longer a mere fraction of an inch in height or trapped within a console, Vanellope could go beyond the pixillated realm that was all she'd ever known. She felt like this was a place to have fun and find friendship, and maybe to be accepted for who she is.
