Who am I? Just a conscience!
Introduce yourself
Hey, howdy, hey! The name's Fantom Stranger, and I wished upon a star from here. My other imaginary friends include Scar & Lefou. Linguini and I are so very eager to join the Worlds of Disney circle of life!
Character basics
Character name: Alfredo Auguste Linguini
Age: 23
Species: Human
Birthplace: Turin, Italy
Movie: Ratatouille
Custom title: Not Everyone Can Cook
Why'd you pick this character? I didn't want to be known as The Villain Guy
Character appearance (try to get at least 2 or 3 sentences for each section)
Hair description: Linguini's hair is reddish and very curly. The curl is completely natural; he doesn't do anything to get it that way. It's a good thing, too, because he has no sense of style and just let's his hair do its thing.
Facial description/mood/expressions: Neither very handsome nor very ugly, Linguini is just average-looking. He has a round head and a rounder nose that tends to dominate his face. His expression is usually confused, or at least a little vague. His ears are a little too big, his eyes are large, and he has freckles.
Clothing style: Linguini can't afford anything fancy in the way of wardrobe. He dresses casually in the extreme: jeans, tees or plain button-downs, sneakers. He buys second-hand whenever possible.
Body build: Reasonably tall, Linguini is thin with gangly arms and legs that seem to be everywhere. He is pretty much graceless.
Any unique traits (optional): His voice is kind of whiney.
Original character analysis (In your own words and please be thorough)
Personality:
Alfredo Linguini is a very nice guy; kind-hearted and gentle, he would never think of hurting, or even offending anyone. He even has a hard time swatting insects, preferring to escort them outside whenever possible. But his desire to please can lead to trouble. Linguini has a hard time distinguishing between those he should help and those he should avoid for his own good.
Although he always means well, Linguini fails at nearly everything he tries, sometimes because he tries too hard, sometimes from general incompetence. his two left feet don't help, either.
He is naturally timid. When put on the spot, Linguini gets easily flustered and tongue-tied. The harder he tries, the worse it gets, usually culminating in some spectacular failure.
The first time he ever succeeded at anything, Linguini immediately got a swelled head, so any accomplishment comes with the danger of pride. Not that he seeks to accomplish great things; on the contrary, Linguini would be happy to live a life of relative obscurity as long as it was peaceful and he was gainfully employed (and Collette was a part of it).
For a young man of French and Italian descent, Linguini can't hold his wine, so he mostly avoids alcohol altogether.
History:
Linguini was born in the Piemonte region of Italy, right near the French border. His mother, Renata, came from a reasonably well-to-do family with great pride in their descent from the ancient rulers of the land, the Savoia family. Thus, when Renata announced her intention to wed a young French chef of no family background, they forbade the marriage.
Headstrong Renata married her love Gusteau in secret, remaining in Italy while he traveled to Paris to make his fortune. When Renata was discovered to be pregnant, her family disowned her altogether.
For whatever reason, Gusteau never sent for his wife, even after earning nationwide fame and success. Thus he never knew he had a son, and Alfredo never knew who his father was. Growing up, Linguini held a number of jobs of every kind imaginable, but never for long; he always managed to get fired for something or other.
Upon his mother's death, young Linguini followed her instructions and journeyed to Paris, presenting himself at Gusteau's restaurant with a letter of recommendation. By that time, however, the chef had already passed away. The letter did inform sous chef Skinner of Linguini's parentage.
So, Linguini started in the restaurant business as a garbage boy. One of his first tasks was to get rid of a rat found in the kitchen (named Remy, though the humans had no way of knowing this). Instead of drowning the rat, Linguini struck up a bargain with it: he would spare the rodent in exchange for help with cooking (Remy was an expert).
Thus began a very strange partnership, but it gave Linguini a promotion. He fell in love with fellow-chef Collette and ran afoul of Skinner before learning that Gusteau was his father and the restaurant his inheritance. With Remy's cooking, all would've been well, but the city health inspector found rats in the kitchen and closed the restaurant down. Thanks to a food critic smitten with Remy's cooking, Linguini was able to open a small cafe instead, and it looked to be a success. Until the day he woke up in...Florida...
Ambitions:
To be worthy of Collette, whom he regards with awe
To make his cafe a profitable enterprise
If that should fail, then to hold a job--ANY job--and become at least reasonably successful
Strengths & abilities:
Not much to write here. Linguini is pretty much inept at everything he tries. Even simple jobs and tasks, he manages to mess up, usually due to a combination of clumsiness and over-eagerness. He is good at bicycling and roller skating, though these are not very marketable skills.
Flaws:
Klutzy
Tries too hard, usually resulting in messing things up (see above)
Easily flustered and tongue-tied
When not tongue-tied, tends to babble
Likes:
Rats and rodents
Good food
Steady paychecks
Skating
Having a girl who doesn't hate him
Dislikes:
Getting called on the carpet
Pink slips
Creatures crawling over his skin
Thieves
Fears:
Bosses and authority figures
Getting in trouble
Anything to add?:
I guess not
