Who am I? Just a conscience!
Introduce yourself
Hey, howdy, hey! The name's Fantom Stranger, and I wished upon a star from ? My other imaginary friends include Pleakley, Wiggins, Linguini, LeFou, and Scar. Toad and I are so very eager to join the Worlds of Disney circle of life!
Character basics
Character name: Jabez Thaddeus Toad II
Age: 34
Species: toad
Birthplace: Toad Hall, the Chilterns, Oxfordshire, England
Movie: The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad
Custom title: Toad the Magnificent (Toad chose that himself)
Why'd you pick this character? Never should've watched that movie again...
Character appearance (try to get at least 2 or 3 sentences for each section)
Hair description: As an amphibian, Toad has no hair, but that only makes him that much more handsome.
Facial description/mood/expressions: He has a wide, oval-shaped head with practically no neck. His mouth is just as wide and very expressive, his nose, merely a snub. His eyes stand up above his head and are generally either wide with excitement or smug with pride. Except when in the grips of some mania or other--then Toad gets a glassy, technicolor stare that can see nothing else.
Clothing style: Toad wears only the best, as befits his station, and delights in looking sharp. He loves accessories: hats, walking sticks, tie pins, etc., and can be seen with a monocle (which he hardly needs) when trying to look scholarly or wise. He is also fond of costumes, never passing up a chance to dress up when it's appropriate.
Body build: J. Thad has a round body, though he is not overweight; just normal toad-shaped. His arms and legs are thin. Though not particularly muscular or strong, Toad is quick and athletic enough for all normal purposes.
Any unique traits (optional): He could tell you a score of 'em, but I can't think of any.
Original character analysis (In your own words and please be thorough)
Personality:
J. Thad is quite a lad. A cheerful, chummy sort of chap who enjoys having plenty of friends. He is quick to forgive and forget and delights in sharing his bounty with others.
Although of aristocratic birth and rich as Croesus, Toad is no miser. Rather, he spends it like water, having no real conception of the value of money. He is not a snob, and would make friends as readily with a plowman as a peer. That said, Toad does expect servants to serve, tradesmen to trade, and peasants to do...whatever it is they do. That is the way of things. But he doesn't look down on the common man as an inferior.
Toad is very impulsive, never bothering to think things through (how dull!) He prefers to jump into everything feet first, and will follow a whim until it is supplanted by another.
He has never learned responsibility. Easily bored, he never sticks with anything for very long. Toad will pick up one hobby and drop it again before anyone else realizes what has happened.
Toad's ego is the size of Toad Hall. He honestly thinks he is the wonder of the age: handsome, daring, and oh, so clever. In reality, he is only average in intelligence, or would be if he ever took the time to think at all. A true optimist, he thinks himself far too grand to ever find a situation he can't scrape through.
One of the most striking traits of Toad is his penchant for manias. Whenever he sees some new thing, it takes possession of his mind, sometimes even putting him into a sort of trance for a while. Then he will go to any lengths, short of a felony, to get his heart's desire. And once he has it, it's only a matter of time before whatever it is is supplanted by some new fad. He might even revisit some old mania, as hooked on it as if it was brand new, especially if it's exciting in some way.
History:
Toad lives in the family seat, Toad Hall, overlooking the River, bequeathed to him by his father, and his father before him, and etc., all the way back to the Norman Conquest. The worthy governor and his wife always thought their boy would grow steadier when he came of age. Alas, an accident claimed them just before J. Thad reached his majority and proved how wrong they were.
The young scion, though genuinely grieved, was delighted to take his place as lord of the manor. Now he could do all the things he ever dreamed of doing with no one to say a word against it.
So he began his life of total dissipation. Not that Toad was ever deliberately wicked; only his fun and games often got in the way of the more stolid citizens along the River. In fact, Toad's reckless behavior made him something of a byword, even a terror to his neighbors at times. But having deep pockets, he always squared things in a generous enough fashion to keep him out of major trouble.
Until the day he traded Toad Hall for a red motorcar. Even that shocking transaction paled beside the fact that he was accused of stealing it! Toad was innocent, of course, but he spent some time in prison on account of that base accusation.
Once sprung by a chum, he managed, with the help of his dear friends Ratty, Mole, and MacBadger, to prove his innocence. Toad's criminal record was expunged, and he returned to hearth and home. And to his old reckless ways.
Ambitions:
Besides looking good and being admired, respected, and envied by one and all, Toad's main ambition is to do just as he pleases at all times. What he pleases changes with the wind, and as quickly as he finds a new goal, he abandons it for something else.
Strengths & abilities:
Generous, will do anything for a friend (except curb his own desires); energy, he prefers stimulation to inactivity; cheerfulness, he hardly ever gets angry. Toad has tried many things in his lifetime, but he's not really skilled at any of them, due to lack of practice and his unwillingness to stick to anything for very long. He is what used to be called a dilettante, or perhaps a jack-of-all-trades, master of none. And he has a fairly decent singing voice.
Flaws:
Vanity, he thinks he's the greatest and doesn't mind saying so; recklessness, he leaps into whatever and NEVER thinks of the consequences; childishness, he's not above pouting or blocking his ears or other infantile behavior. Add to this irresponsibility, lack of commitment, and generally making bad choices.
Likes:
That changes every day! Whatever is his latest mania. In addition, he likes good food, good friends, fine clothes, comforts, praise, excitement.
Dislikes:
Lectures, responsibility, being told what to do, having any whim thwarted, boredom.
Fears:
Toad often fears police and authority figures, due to his being guilty of some hidden thing. Other than that, he's too thoughtless and overconfident to be afraid until the danger is upon him. Then he can run with the best of them. But he more often thinks he's invincible and thus has nothing to fear.
Anything to add?:
I guess not
