Who am I? Just a conscience!
Introduce yourself
Hey, howdy, hey! The name's FloTheJungleDal, and I wished upon a star from Google. My other imaginary friends include none. Mowgli and I are so very eager to join the Worlds of Disney circle of life!
Character basics
Character name: Mowgli
Age: 10
Species: Human boy (or “man-cub”, as referred to by some of the animals in the jungle)
Birthplace: The jungle of India
Movie: The Jungle Book
Custom title: The Man-Cub
Why'd you pick this character? He has always been my favorite human character in Disney animation. I think he’s a lovable character who likes to have fun and make the jungle a fun place to live.
Character appearance (try to get at least 2 or 3 sentences for each section)
Hair description: Mowgli has untidy black neck-length hair with bangs and a cowlick. His hair always stays the same, even after it gets wet.
Facial description/mood/expressions: Mowgli has a plain, rounded face and plain black eyes, though he can make facial expressions to show what he feels. He often expresses happiness, sadness, guilt, anger, and shock, because he often feels happy, sad, guilty, mad or angry, and shocked or surprised.
Clothing style: Mowgli wears only one article of clothing, and that’s a red loincloth that’s wrapped in a way that it looks like a pair of underwear. He has always worn only that loincloth since he was taken in by a family of wolves as a baby, and he still continues to wear only that loincloth since he has started living among humans in the man-village.
Body build: Mowgli is slim. He has the average body build of any kid his age. He keeps his body build this way due to activities he takes part in while in the jungle or in the man-village.
Any unique traits (optional): None.
Original character analysis (In your own words and please be thorough)
Personality:
Mowgli is a happy-go-lucky kid who likes to have fun and live a carefree life. He always comes off as stubborn and uncooperative when he is told to do something he doesn’t want to do or when he is told that what he is doing is wrong. He always wants life to be about having fun and relaxing, and he refuses to be forced out of his comfort zone.
He has a tendency to act tough and show off his fighting abilities (or lack thereof) when he is told that he is weak or that he is not capable of looking after or taking care of himself. Whenever he shows himself off this way, he ends up easily being proven wrong by someone calling him out for lacking any strength or capabilities of looking after or taking care of himself. This usually results in him getting sad, mad, or angry, and sometimes feeling bad about himself.
History:
Mowgli was brought into the world by an adventurous couple who spent days traveling in the jungle of India, especially in the river on a canoe. After Mowgli was born, he was kept in a basket, while his mother did all the caring for him as she and the boy’s father continued with their travels in the jungle. This only lasted a couple of days, though, for on the night of the second day of Mowgli’s life, a storm occurred. During the storm, their parents lost control of the canoe. The storm was so terrible that the canoe ended up crashed into a large rock and split into two. As a result, Mowgli’s parents got killed and drowned deep in the river, but Mowgli survived, and he wasn’t noticed until the next morning when a panther named Bagheera heard the boy’s cries.
Mowgli was lucky that Bagheera chose to take him to a family of wolves where he could be taken care of by Raksha and Rama rather than to leave him to die of starvation, a sickness, or being killed by Shere Khan or any other animal that hated humans. Since being adopted by the wolves, Mowgli was taught to be like one of them, and he was loved by the wolf parents and their wolf cubs. However, after Mowgli lived with the wolf family for ten years, word was spread around that a tiger named Shere Khan returned to the wolves’ part of the jungle and would kill Mowgli. So, it was agreed that Mowgli would be taken to a man-village where he would be safe from Shere Khan and be with his own kind, but Mowgli refused to leave the jungle for any reason.
Mowgli was determined to stay in the jungle and live in it his entire life, despite being hypnotized and almost eaten twice by a snake named Kaa, being kidnapped and taken to an orangutan named King Louie by monkeys, and being almost attacked by Shere Khan. Mowgli befriended a bear named Baloo, who promised that the boy could stay in the jungle with him. But that promise was broken when Baloo heard from Bagheera about Shere Khan’s plans to kill Mowgli and told the boy that he had to take him to the man-village. Feeling betrayed by Baloo and unwanted by everyone in the jungle, Mowgli ran away.
It wasn’t until after Mowgli met a quartet of vultures in the wasteland part of the jungle when he was finally confronted by Shere Khan. Mowgli was about to fight off Shere Khan until he saw how intimidating and threatening the tiger could be when he saw him leap towards him. Mowgli was able to defeat Shere Khan, but not without help from Baloo and the vultures, with the latter telling him that the tiger feared fire.
After causing Shere Khan to run away by using the tiger’s fear of fire against him, Mowgli reunited with Baloo, but that didn’t last long, for he heard a girl in the man-village singing as she was fetching water from a river. This got Mowgli to get a good look at the girl. He fell for the girl, in more ways than one, and he ended up getting noticed by her. He was torn between staying in the jungle and going into the man-village, but he ended up being lured to the man-village by the girl, as he was smitten with her. At that point, he began living his life in the man-village, not knowing that the girl had a special surprise for him.
Ambitions:
Mowgli’s one and only ambition is to live the rest of his life without any responsibilities or a care in the world, preferably in a jungle, no matter where that jungle is. But if he can, he will find someone who shares the exact same interests as him.
Strengths & abilities:
Mowgli has the ability to defeat enemies by using their fears against them. Of course, he wouldn’t be able to do that without being told the enemies’ fears beforehand. He is also able to tell when he’s being tricked into getting killed by his enemies, though he would have to have prior experience in being tricked into getting killed by an enemy in order to have the ability to tell when he’s being tricked into getting killed by that enemy the next time he meets them.
Flaws:
Despite living in the jungle for ten years, especially with his adoptive wolf family, Mowgli is not strong at all. He believes that he has great fighting skills when he has no fighting skills whatsoever. Everytime he gets into a fight, he ends up outmuscled. He also has a tendency to be careless and go do something that looks fun to him but is actually dangerous without thinking of the consequences for it. He even goes as far as putting others in danger by bringing them along to something like that.
Likes:
Being in a jungle, being with Baloo, fruits (particularly mangoes), upbeat music, dancing, parties, relaxing, being free to do whatever he wants
Dislikes:
Doing things that are part of growing up, being forced out of his comfort zone, meats, vegetables, being lied to or betrayed, being nagged or scolded, being told that he is weak or not capable of looking after or taking care of himself
Fears:
Becoming a man, losing all connections with the jungle and everyone he knows there, being killed or eaten by an enemy
Anything to add?:
None.
RP SAMPLE:
PAST TENSE ONLY. MUST BE ABOUT THE CHARACTER FOR WHOM YOU ARE APPLYING.
Ever since Mowgli lived in the man-village, he occasionally went into the jungle when no one was looking to visit Baloo and sometimes Bagheera. At this time, he was about to make another visit to the jungle, so he looked left and right in the man-village to make sure that there was no one looking. There were people out there, and they all were minding their own business and doing their daily tasks; not a single one of those people turned away from their work and looked at Mowgli.
“Good,” he whispered to himself. “Everybody’s busy.”
Without waiting another second for anyone in the man-village to catch him, the man-cub exited the man-village through the gates, walked across the river, and entered the jungle. Whenever he left the man-village and returned to the jungle, he felt very happy to have set foot back in the place in the wild that he grew up in, and he was very excited about getting to reunite with Baloo.
Mowgli went deep into the jungle enough to be out of earshot of everyone in the man-village and started looking around for his “papa bear”.
“Baloo?” Mowgli called out, and he waited for a response, but he heard nothing after waiting for about five seconds. “Baloo, it’s me!”
There was still no response from Baloo or anyone in the jungle. Mowgli kept walking deeper in the jungle, hoping to catch a glimpse of Baloo or hear a small sound from the bear. As he continued walking, he felt some of the ground getting thinner and crumbling. He never felt something like that in the jungle before.
“This doesn’t feel right,” he said, taking a few more steps on the ground, causing it to crumble even more. “I don’t think I remember being in this part of the jungle bef—OOOOOORE!!”
He fell through the ground, screaming and getting hit by falling rocks along the way. After falling down what felt like twenty feet, he ended up falling flat on a rocky road and ended up unconscious.
