Who am I? Just a conscience!
Introduce yourself
Hey, howdy, hey! The name's MAGGIE, and I wished upon a star from ADS. My other imaginary friends include TRIPLETS & CO. SPOT and I are so very eager to join the Worlds of Disney circle of life!
Character basics
Character name: Spot
Age: 5
Species: Human
Birthplace: A cave in the western, mountainous region.
Movie: The Good Dinosaur
Custom title: Goodhearted Spunky Critter
Why'd you pick this character? He is adorable, and despite being a non-talking character, has plenty of personality and I think could have a lot of fun in the parks.
Character appearance (try to get at least 2 or 3 sentences for each section)
Hair description: Spot has brown hair, with lighter patches, often unruly and with twigs and sticks in it. Recently was a lot better groomed by his second, adoptive, family but now he's been left to his own devices again.
Facial description/mood/expressions: Green eyes and a grubby face. A happy expression is often seen beyond the grub, though. Still has all of his teeth and in fairly good order, mostly thanks to his young age.
Clothing style: He only wears a skirt of grass made up of green and brown leaves. Barefooted.
Body build: Young and spry. Spot is by no means slender, but he is small, thanks mostly to his age. Muscular and spry enough to take on most anything that he comes across.
Any unique traits (optional): Though he doesn't speak in the traditional sense, he is communicative and very insightful for and around any language barriers.
Original character analysis (In your own words and please be thorough)
Personality:
Spot is a goodhearted, resourceful little cave boy. He moves along quickly from disappointment, but also doesn't forget those he's lost. Quick witted and generally fearless, or he gives off the impression of being such, and perhaps due to his small size. He can be impatient, especially of those who don't adapt so quickly, but if he feels you're worth the effort, he'll still put it in for you, like with Arlo. Fiercely loyal, to the literal sense, once you've made a friend of him, you have a friend for life. He's still young, so playful and curious, he just hasn't found much time for such when survival takes up most of his focus.
History:
Spot's given name, by his birth parents, is lost to his own early history, and yet the nickname (or full) that his mother would often call him, in their own way of communicating, sounded similar, so that when he heard it again even in spoken word, it perked his interest.
The world in which Spot was born was ruled by dinosaurs as the main species, and so he and his family had to adapt to such, yet they were not as primitive as his behavior would let on. Sniffing and grunts were still very much effective tools of communication, but both Spot and his parents walked upright unless necessity, like in hunting, called for crawling.
Or Spot had just begun to practice the transition from crawling to walking, and make a conscious effort to follow his mother and father's example and do such, before tragedy struck.
Born an old child, his parents were his whole world, and so when they both went out for a hunt one night and didn't come back, the boy was devastated. Once he realized it. He waited about the cave for a good while yet, convinced they would just come back, but soon having to accept that they wouldn't. He went back to crawling and didn't even try to walk upright, it also proving useful in his foraging and scurrying quickly out of the way of predators.
He seemed to have an upper hand on even some of the dinosaur children, and if they had been put into a similar situation of being orphaned so young. Spot had seen his father hunt enough times to know the best way to catch lizards and bugs, and was quickly able to copy such himself and to catch his own food.
Beyond just copying, he was resourceful and could figure out ways in which to avoid predators and get food. The silo of corn he came across was one of his favorite finds, and by watching for a few days before making his move, he was able to tell that as long as the biggest Apatosaurus wasn't around he could dart over. He stayed around the area and used a couple of nights to find which of the stones he could wiggle lose the best to be able to scurry up into the silo and take some of the corn, mostly undetected.
Not fully, though, since one time, as he was doing such, he tripped a trap that came down on-top of him! Biting his way out didn't seem to work, and only ended up in him becoming more entangled. Thankfully the young dinosaur that found him let him free.
Spot didn't know he had been sent there to "take care" of him and stop him from stealing the family's corn, so when he came across the young dinosaur again, he only remembered that he helped him and strove to do the same, freeing his foot from a rock, and bringing him food before he found something he liked.
The dinosaur, Arlo, proved useful to Spot as well, and the boy was not above manipulating his actions, such as biting his foot, to cause him to make a bridge over a narrow gap so that Spot could get some berries for the both of them. Spot unintentionally pushed Arlo past his comfort zone all along their journey and yet also went out of his own way for him, seeing them both as alone and so needing each other, even if he couldn't express this thought.
It paid off in that Arlo both named him that familiar sounding name and kept him from becoming part of a pet collection as well as defending him from some pterodactyls who would have otherwise eaten the boy. While the process of becoming friends was gradual on Arlo's end, Spot had made one of his quick decisions and decided he liked the dinosaur shortly after meeting him.
He therefore took Arlo's suggestions even when his own knowledge seemed to know better, like to eat some bad fruit on the ground when there was perfectly good fruit in the tree. Although silently, the two shared their experiences all along Arlo's journey home, Spot showing him how fun it was to chase groundhogs while Arlo showed him fireflies, and both shared about those they had lost.
Spot would have happily gone home with Arlo, but at the climax of their journey, and after having learned so much due to Spot's influence, Arlo could tell the boy was better off with the new human family that they came across and who seemed eager to take him in. Spot even gained siblings, but then found himself alone again when he arrived in the parks.
