charrie basics.[/ul]
age: 16
species: Human
birthplace: The Palace of Agrabah
movie: Aladdin
title: "Shining, shimmering, splendid"
why: Aladdin is my favorite classic Disney movie, and when I saw that none of the Aladdin characters had been claimed, I just had to fill the void. Jasmine seemed to be the best option for a first character as her personality is pretty cut and dry, and will give me a chance to learn my way around the site without worrying too much about my character. It would also be good to bring a little bit of the middle Eastern culture to the site.

charrie appearance (about 3 sentences)[/ul]
facial description/mood expressions: Jasmine's face is rather angular, with long cheek bones and a distinctly triangular nose. Her skin is naturally tan which complements her large, chocolate brown eyes. She has rather noticeable eye brows that might over power a more gently designed face, but her innocent little mouth and dark lashes off set their distinctiveness.
clothing style: Used to the blistering heat of the Middle Eastern deserts, Jasmine's wardrobe features quite a bit of exposed skin. Her favorite outfit is a blue tank-top type shirt called a 'bedlah' that leaves both her shoulders and midriff bare. She combines this with similarly colored poofy pants, or a skirt if she's feeling flirtatious. Her shoes are always simple slippers of various colors. As far as accessories go, Jasmine loves big earing's and is never without a pair of large hoops, drops, or some other dangling jewel. She also is sure to always wear her headband of a tiara to remind the world that she is a princess.
body build: Jasmine is a slight little thing- delicate would be another word to describe her. She has a trim, lithe frame that is all elbows and knees. She has a tiny waist that she hides with baggy pants, as well as small hands and feet. Though still considered young by our culture, in her own Jasmine is a blossoming young woman in her prime- a.k.a the perfect marriage age.
any unique traits (optional) : Unlike the majority of women in her culture, Jasmine does not wear the traditional face veil or cover her head. Perhaps this is another sign of her habit of rebelling against tradition?

Jasmine also has a noticeable temper. She is prone to yelling and tantrums, and maybe even a bit of sarcasm when she doesn't get her way.
But underneath that fiery exterior, Jasmine is actually a kind person. She does not like to be judged, and so she does not judge others. She enjoys helping others less fortunate than herself and has a great curiosity and wonder for life. She loves to discover and try new things, and is always up for an adventure. But not matter what, Jasmine will always follow her heart.
history: Jasmine was born to the Sultan of Agribah. Normally her birth would have been a celebrated event, but her mother died in childbirth. Thus the Princess grew up without a maternal influence in her life. Her jolly-natured father loved her dearly, and tried to make up for this void in his daughter's life by providing her with everything she could possibly desire.
Jasmine grew up secluded inside the palace walls. It was a happy childhood, but Jasmine's curiosity often got her into trouble. She spent many years exploring all the nooks and crannies of the palace, but soon her over-active imagination turned to the world beyond the ever present wall. Her father attempted to diverge her attentions and gave her a tiger cub for her eighth birthday. The two became fast friends, and Rajah was the best guard dog Agribah had ever seen.
As her sixteenth birthday approached, Jasmine's father began to pressure her to choose a husband. He paraded many princes past her, but Jasmine refused them all. Depressed by her seemingly pointless station in life as a prize to be won, she snuck out of the palace disguised as a peasant, determined to never look back.
While wandering the streets of the market, the naive Princess ran into some trouble with an apple vendor. She was cunningly saved by a street urchin named Aladdin, who kindly showed her the ropes of the city.
Though it was still a new relationship, Jasmine felt herself starting to fall in love with this common boy. But their romantic evening was rudely interrupted by the palace guards come to arrest Aladdin and return the princess to the palace.
That was the last Jasmine thought she would ever see of her rescuer, as Jafar informed her that he had been beheaded for kidnapping her. Feeling guilty and upset, the princess barricaded herself in her room.
The suitors continued to try for her hand. Not long after her little adventure to the marketplace, an interesting Prince Ali Ababwah (sp?) decided to make a call. After a magical and romantic magic carpet ride, Jasmine discovered that he was none other than the boy who had saved her. Estatic, they decided to get married.
Their plans were interrupted by the evil Jafar. After stealing Aladdin's magic lamp, Jafar used the genie's powers to make himself Sultan and Jasmine his slave. But good always triumphs. Aladdin managed to return and trick Jafar into wishing to become a genie himself, trapping him in his own magic lamp. After seeing Aladdin's true character, the Sultan agreed to let Jasmine marry him after all- even though he technically was not a prince.
But their happily ever after was not to be. Before the wedding could be carried out, a strange magic pulled Jasmine from their desert home and dropped her in the middle of a desecrated wasteland. Lost and confused, she must now try and survive in a strange land.

RP SAMPLE: ----
Jasmine walked down the street, trying not to gape in wonder. All the sights, the sounds, the smells... why her father had never let her come to the market before was a mystery. She instinctively clutched at her simple brown head shawl as she passed a group of guards, double checking her disguise. There was no way she was going back to the palace. This place was too exciting!
As she continued her stroll, vendors shouted and hawked their wares. "Sugar dates, sugar dates and beans, sugar dates and pistachios!" "FRESH FISH. WE CATCH 'EM, YOU BUY 'EM!" The girl didn't know where to look first.
It was at that moment that she happened upon a small boy. He stared forlornly at a large pile of red apples in the nearest stall. His pitiful look tugged at Jasmine's heart. She had to help the child somehow. Smiling, she picked up one of the ripe fruits and handed it to him. He beamed at her and skipped away as a menacing figure loomed behind her.
"You'd better be able to pay for that." He demanded, crossing his arms and glaring at her. Her eyes widened in horror.
"I'm sorry. I don't have any money."
"Do you know what the penalty is for stealing?!" He yelled at her in response, roughly seizing her arm. The girl panicked, tugging useless at her trapped limb.
"No, I'm sorry. If I can just go to the palace..." she babbled as he raised a dangerous looking knife into the air. He was going to cut off her hand!
Suddenly the weapon disappeared. "Thank you kind sir." a calm and somewhat charming voice said. Jasmine was seized by another pair of hands, these much more gentle than the first had been. She found herself staring into a pair of eyes that twinkled with mischief. "Just play along." he whispered to her. Jasmine had to try hard not to smile as her rescuer talked his way out of danger. Her adventurous spirit began to return. This was much more fun than wandering around the palace.
