Bright chocolate eyes gazed about in wonder, through a curtain of dark silky hair, as the young Violet Parr weaved her way through the late afternoon crowd. Bob was off 'living the glory days' with Frozone as usual, while Helen had taken Jack-jack along to Dash's weekly track meet. Violet simply could not deny her restlessness that day and found it quite strange that the usual loud music and stack of fashion magazines, wasn't enough to suppress her boredom. Instead, she had marched herself down to the local bus stop, deciding that she would let the first one that stopped before her, take her away to her mystery destination.. and from there, she'd start her own little adventure. It was the best idea she could manage. After all, she hadn't really been out on her own before.. at least not so far from home that she needed motorized transportation. Still, she was sure that her mother wouldn't mind. Violet knew how to play it safe and she was certainly getting old enough to act responsibly in such situations.
Of course normally, Violet wasn't at all a fan to large crowds.. though it seemed the moment the rubber souls of her canvas shoes hit the smooth cobbles of Main Street USA, her awe was enough to overpower any feelings of timidness.. at least for now. It was a wonderful place, full of lights, music and shop after shop just bursting with all sorts of toys, collectibles and brightly colored sweets. It almost appeared as though a land one might see in their wildest dreams.. it was just far too surreal. Even in the distance, she could see a tall and elegant castle, tinted with blue and positively sparkling with beauty. Naturally all Violet could do was quicken her paces in eagerness to see more.
Her eyes darted to display after display in each window she past, as her feet carried her forward. Everything just looked so appealing, that she wished she had brought more then just a couple of dollars with her from home. Oh, if only she had known where she would have been ending up at the time. Still, a couple of dollars was enough to buy one of those delicious looking caramel apples that had been quick to catch her eye and pull her in like a moth to light. Her hands had pressed against the glass in a rather childish manor, as she stared at them through the window.. though soon enough, she had caught the reflection of a young boy, who looked to be around her age, eying her as he passed and she quickly dropped her hands to her side with a flush of pinkish embarrassment flooding her pale cheeks. If only she could have used her powers to turn invisible right then and there.. though she knew she could not do so in such a large crowd. Her mother had always told her it was crucial to keep her true identity and her super identity two entirely separate things for her own good.
Instead, she had opted to slip inside of the sweet shop in hopes that being out of the crowed street would save her any further embarrassment and let her hair fall to mask her face once more, as she shuffled up to the counter with timid steps. Her small voice asked the plump woman standing behind the register for one of the apples and she had gladly obliged, after receiving the correct payment. Violet then took her apple and reluctantly wandered back out into the street. Luckily, however, she was able to spot an empty bench just a few feet away, in the shade of a large tree. She gratefully claimed it, sitting to one side and keeping her head low as she began to peel away at the plastic covering on her apple.
