age: 21
species: Creature
birthplace: A castle in France
movie: Beauty and the Beast
title: with beauty underneath
why: He's my all-time favorite Disney character. I love his design, his voice, and the change of personality he undergoes in the film. He's rude and temperamental, but deep down he's got a heart of gold. I only wish he could have stayed as awesome, but the movie's ending turned him into that cheesy prince guy.

charrie appearance (about 3 sentences)[/ul]
facial description/mood expressions: The face of the Beast can be quite intimidating. With the horns of a bull, an ugly muzzle and large protruding fangs, it is hard to look at him without turning away. The only sign of beauty on his features are his striking pale blue eyes, the one human trait his transformation did not change. His expression rarely goes beyond a scowl, and when he does smile it only shows off more of his frightening teeth.
clothing style: He almost always wears a long red cloak that covers most of his body, along with tattered black pants. Other times he can be found in a navy blue cape and a white sleeved tunic. For very special occasions he has a blue and yellow suit which he wears over a white shirt, while the long hair on his neck is tied back in a ribbon.
body build: Beast is very bearlike in build. Standing at around seven feet, his hulking frame forces him to look down when speaking to those smaller than him. His arms resemble those of a gorilla, huge and muscular with hands that are more like paws. His legs are much smaller, though still powerful enough to support his massive weight. He can stand on both two and four legs.

original charrie analysis. (everything must be in your own words! please be thorough, about 3 sentences)[/ul]
history: Prince Adam was born within a magnificent castle to a wealthy family. He was an orphan all his life, his mother having died during childbirth while his father was killed in battle several months earlier. The servants of the castle took it upon themselves to raise the prince, though they spoiled him by granting his every wish. By age 11 he had turned into an ungrateful and pampered boy, shouting when things weren't done his way and mistreating his servants.
One Christmas, there was a knock at the castle door. Adam opened it to find a haggard old woman standing in the snow, holding a glowing red rose and offering it in return for shelter. The prince laughed and dismissed the woman's ugly appearance, and the beggar's form disappeared and was replaced by a beautiful enchantress. Though he attempted to apologize, she knew there was no goodness in his heart and placed a terrible curse upon the prince, the castle, and its servants. When Adam looked down at his hands, they were covered with fur and hideous claws. The enchantress gave him the magical rose, which would begin to slowly wither by the time he turned 21. She then informed him that to break the spell he would need to find another to love and earn their love in return by the time the last petal of the flower fell, and only then would he and his servants become human again. If he couldn't learn to love, he would remain trapped in his beastly form forever.
Years passed, and Adam began to lose hope of ever finding the love the enchantress had spoke of. He abandoned his real name and spent most of his time locked in the West Wing, watching as his magic rose bloomed and eventually began to slowly die. It was an uneventful ten years, until a trespasser entered the castle one winter's night. An aging man, nearly frozen to death, had lost his horse in the woods and came seeking shelter at the Beast's home. His anger at the intruder led the Beast to keep the man as a prisoner, until a village girl named Belle bravely entered the castle and exchanged her freedom for that of her father's.
Since Belle was the the only chance he had ever had to break the spell, Beast would have given her anything she wished. Yet she wanted nothing to do with him, refusing to attend dinner and ignoring his attempts at kindness. Things took a turn for the worst when Belle had entered the forbidden West Wing, causing the Beast to impulsively lash out and frighten the girl. Despite promising to remain a prisoner, Belle fled the castle and was attacked by wolves on her way through the forest. As soon as he noticed she was gone, the Beast followed Belle's trail and rescued her from the animals, but received several injuries during the fight. Touched by his kindness, Belle returned to the castle and nursed his wounds, and for once they were able to get along.
Months later, the two had become close friends.Though the Beast loved Belle, the curse could only be broken if she returned the feelings. She assured him that she was happy within the castle, but he also knew she deeply missed her father back at the village. He allowed her a glimpse into his magic mirror, and it was then she discovered that he was gravely ill and likely to die if she couldn't come to his aid. Regretfully, Beast let Belle return to her father, thus giving up his once chance to become human again.
Once they learned about the Beast, an army attacked the castle. The servants were able to fend off most of them, but one man was determined to kill the monster who he saw as a threat to his desire to marry Belle. Having lost all hope, Beast would have let Gaston kill him if Belle hadn't appeared and given him the strength to fight. After a long battle, Gaston seemed to have given up. But as Beast climbed the tower to meet Belle, the man made one last attempt and buried a knife in the creature's chest, yet lost his footing in the process and ended up falling from the roof of the castle.
As the Beast lay at Belle's side, he couldn't feel any pain, only happiness that she had returned. Though he expected to die, when he closed his eyes he had woken up in some strange new world that was completely unlike his own. Neither Belle nor his servants were anywhere to be found, and his magic mirror no longer worked in this place. His enchanted rose, he noticed, had also stopped withering and he was no longer restrained by the time limit that came with the spell. He didn't know where he was or how this land worked, but he knew he had to find Belle and his friends, hoping they were somewhere in this place as well.

RP SAMPLE: ----
The bitter winter breeze ruffled the Beast's fur as he stood on the West Wing's balcony, staring past the forest and out to the countryside that lay beyond. A little village was nestled on the farthest area, looking small and peaceful in contrast to the dark, forbidding towers of the castle. He secretly longed to be out there, to be among people again instead of concealed in his own prison.
In his paw he held the magic mirror given to him by the one responsible for his curse. "Show me the village," he whispered to his reflection. Instantly the glass glowed with a brilliant green light and the image before him was no longer his own face. It now showed the townspeople milling about, doing their day to day activities. It wasn't anything unusual, but the Beast longed to be within the crowds as an ordinary man, to not have to worry about hiding himself behind his cloak. Yet he was a hideous monster and could never hope to be accepted by anyone.
There was a time when he did hope, but it seemed so long ago now. He had no more than a year left to break his curse and knew it was meaningless to dream anymore. The Beast glanced back at his precious rose, his hourglass, and watched as a single petal withered and fell softly to the bottom of the jar as if in response to his thoughts. Closing his eyes, he collapsed on to the edge of the balcony and let out a mournful roar-like cry that echoed in the cold air.
