charrie basics.[/ul]
age: Nineteen
species:human being..except for when she got turned into a frog.
birthplace: the swamplands of New Orleans, Louisiana, USA
movie: The Princess and the Frog(2009)
title: "I just do not {k i s s} F R O G S.."
why: Have you seen The Princess and the Frog? It's very clear that this Disney movie is very different than the other Disney films. I mean, there's jazz music, talking frogs, a witch doctor villian, plenty of voodo, gumbo, and talking frogs! In simple terms, when I saw the movie I was truly inspired and impressed by the change of from the typical castles, princess and prince fall quickly fall in love type of movie. Another reason why I had to pick Tiana as a character is because throughout the movie I realized that I could compare quite a lot with Tiana's personality, experiences and ambitions at both the beginning and the end of the movie. Tiana isn't really looking for love in the movie because she is so dedicated to working hard to reach her dreams of having people come from all over to eat her food and I too have a specific dream that I work very hard to get to one day. Many other young people in this world come to learn that simply wishing for your dreams to come true isn't enough. That's only half the work. You have to put a little hard work of your own to make your dreams come true and Tiana resembles that lesson that so many of us learn and live by in our lifetime.

charrie appearance[/ul]
facial description/mood expressions: Every princess in Disney history has a obvious trace of beauty when they have that dreamy look in their eyes by seeing their prince for the first time. Well, there are two things the give Tiana that classic dreamy gaze upon her ace. Naveen. And Tiana's Palace. The two most important things in her life have that affect upon her.
Sure, Tiana obviously has a natural beauty about her, but she hardly notices or cares to do very much with her looks. She doesnft have time to be messing around and dressing herself up nice to impress anyone. Although now that Tiana's Palace is booming with customers and making good business, she does take a little more time to make herself look like a good hostess in the restaruant. She is a little bit more aware of her responsibilities than most girls her age, so she has a good feeling of when to take things seriously. Though, it doesn't exactly make her a stick in the mud.
Now that she is married to Naveen, they both always come up with good way of making each other smile. She does tender to playfuly joke around with Naveen, which sometimes gives her a playful smirk upon her face. Even though Tiana is pretty down to earth, holding close to her responsibilities, when she met Prince Naveen, Loius and Ray, that completely chaged. Once she went on quite the adventure through the bayou, she actually learned to open her emotion and mood more freely, especially once she got to actually like and appreciate Naveen. Now even though for the most part she is very calm and cool tempered, she will be better at showing her true feelings instead of hidding them the way she did before she was turned into a frog.
As for the things that make her frown theres three main things:
- Lazieness
- Naveen's flirtatious habits
- Remembering Ray is gone
If there's one thing that she truely believes in, its that people should gives a little in order to recieve. She doesn't have time for lazieness at all, and won't tolerate it in Tiana's Palace. Sure, Tiana obviously has a natural beauty about her, but she hardly notices or cares to do very much with her looks. She doesnft have time to be messing around and dressing herself up nice to impress anyone. Although now that Tianafs Palace is booming with customers and making good business, she does take a little more time to make herself look like a good hostess in the restaruant.

Looking up to the evening star will never be the same now. With Ray and Evangeline always looking down upon them everynight, its still hard to let go of Ray and the loyalty and friendship he shared with her, Naveen and their jazz playing alligator friend Louis. Everytime she catches herself looking up at the two brightest stars in the sky, Tiana still finds herself having the sinking feeling in her stomach that most get when they've experiences the loss of a good friend. She may sometimes have a frown when memories like the good moments they shared with Ray come back, but now New Orleans has the two most beautiful wishing stars shining down upon her every night, all because two fireflies fell in love.
clothing style: Well now that Tiana's Palace is full of people every night, she's able to dress a little better than her work dress she used to come home wearing everyday. Now she wear formal looking dresses fit for a restuarant hostess every night and casualy summer dresses when she's not working. Her mother would always been up late sewing the dresses she had somehow managed to tear during her long working hours. Now its a little different because on her days off from work, Tiana asked her mother to help her learn to sew and make more of her own clothes, now that she's found a good balance of work and time spent with her family. Luckily she no longer has long legs or sticky mucus to worry about, so she'll never have to wrap a tree leaf around her waist to mince up mushrooms anymore.
body build: It's ture that she does have a slender figure that every Disney heroine does, but there's a couple things different about Tiana. For one thing, she's African American. Born with beautiful dark skin and her mother's slim figure, Tiana can dress in the most simple style and still pull it off. Height wise, she stands at about 5'7 and in pounds she wieghs in at about 117 lbs, pretty average for a nineteen year old hard working waitress.
When she was a hippty hoppty little frog, it was a whole different story. Tiana had warts, a long sticky tongue that she couldn't control, and not to mention a slippery green body to top it all off. Although never in her wildest dreams did she ever imagine she would be turned into a frog, there will be a couple of secret things she will miss from time to time about being a little amphibian. Messing around with the hunters in the bayou and putting her froggy traits to real use will be something she will never forget about being a frog. Plus, she happened to have two long, webbed feet when she first learned to dance. So, in a way, there was a very good upside to being turned into a frog by accident.
any unique traits (optional) : There was a time when she sprouted a long sticky tongue, warts, leaping legs and sli-.. mucus. Yes, it's true that at one time Tiana was a frog, warts and all. And though you can't see it in her outer appearance, Tiana its true that she has the same hard working and big dreaming spirit her daddy James had, as Mama Oodie assured her back in the bayou.

original charrie analysis. (everything must be in your own words! please be thorough, about 3 sentences)[/ul]
So as she grew up, Tiana actually formed into a focused and determined person, with her heart set on one specific dream which she made her goal. She made it her main goal to work as hard as she could everyday to make her dream come true. The only touble with being completly focused on that one dream was that she missed out on other oppotunities with friends and family because of her determination. As she worked long hours at the cafe, her friends got the impression that she never really wanted to have fun at all. It secretly hurt her to know that her friends talked about how she never would come to their get togethers or anything they invited her to, but knowing that she didn't want her daddy's dream to slip out of her hand, so instead she would just go back to waiting on tables and serving up flapjacks.
After being turned into a frog, she discovered new things about herself. Without having her job around to work at, Tiana realized how good the company of others can be and what she really had been missing when she would always exclude herself from dance, picnics and even she loved like cooking with her friends. Finally, and probably most importantly, Tiana got a real heart and found out she could actually open up to her feelings and love another person outside of her family. She went on to find out that just having the restaraunt she'd always dreamed of would never be enough. She opened her heart to the frog prince and showed herself what her heart really needed to be happy.
Having Tiana's Palace running so well really showed her the importance of bringing people together really means. Her daddy said once that good food had the ability to make people come together. At first, she thought that making the food by working hard and learning to cook really well was the important part and that was really what people would care about. The quality of the food, taste, and style is important in the cooking business but when people can come together with help of food, that is what really is the important part of cooking. It Tiana a little while to figure that out. Actually it took turning into a frog, an adventure through the bayou. meeting a blind witch with good voodoo, and falling in love with a frog. But, the point is that she learned her lesson and become a better human being for it. That is, after she stopped being a frog.
history: It all started is a little run-down house near a bog in the neighborly little swamplands of New Orleans, Louisiana. On a peaceful stary Lousiana evening, a hard working factory worker rushed home from work to witness the bith of his first child. The factory worker and his loving wife Eudora couldn't afford to go to the hospital so a personal friend of Eudora's came be her midwife. Back around the early 1900's, it wasn't appropriate for men to actually be in the deilvery room, so James waited franctically on the front porch for many grueling hours. It was almost 1:00 in the morning when James was finally allowed to see his brand new baby girl. When James saw the little baby with beautiful dark skin and her mother's, he agreed with his wife to name her after his own late mother, Tiana. He adored her from the first moment he saw her. When Eudorafirst had told him she was going to have a baby, he wasn't exactly sure what kind of father he wasw going to be. But as he looked into her face and held her for the first time in his arms he knew he was going to put everything he had into being the best father he could be to his little girl. A few years passed by and Tiana was a little girl with a head full of dreams. During the day she would practice making all kinds of different dishes for her mamma and daddy, and the neighborhood kids to try, and in the evenings her mamma would take over to the La Bouff residence to share bedtime stories and play with Big Daddy La Bouff's little girl, Charlotte. There were many stories that Charlotte pleaded to have read every night. Sleeping Beauty, Jack and the Beanstalk, Cinderella, but her favorite story turned out to be The Frog Prince. All Tiana could do was shudder at the very though of kissing a digusting slimy little creature, while Charlotte thought the story was the bee's knees. Later that night after making Gumbo for the neighborhood familes, James told his daughter the most important lesson she would keep with her for the rest of her life while looking up at the wishing star. He was cook on the side and if he didn't have to work in the factory, he dreamed he would one day turn the old beat-up sugarmill into a grand restuarant and name it after his only daughter. So, he told Tiana that wishing is only half the part. It takes hard work of your own to really make your wishes come true. Lastely he told her to never loose sight of what you truely need and with that he and his wife said goodnight to their little girl and Tiana stayed up to keep wishing on that star..until she came face to face with the most disgusting frog she'd ever seen and became so scared she had to flee her own room.
A couple more years flew by and Tiana grew into a lovely young woman. A hard working, responsible young waitress actually. She worked long hours and came home with small tips that still went toward the dream that she shared with her daddy of opening Tiana's Palace and making it the finest restuarant in New Orleans. The days went by until one more while serving up flapjacks and freshly squeezed orange juice, Mr. La Bouff came into the cafe, along with Charlotte who informed her that a prince had arrived in town and was planning to stay at their mansion and attend the Masqurade Ball that Charlotte had planned to impress the foreign prince. Charlotte asked Tiana to cook her specialties for the ball and by agreeing to do so, Tiana was payed just the amount she needed in order to buy out the old sugarmill to start making her restuarant. Before the ball, Eudora helped her daughter clean out the mucky old sugarmill, while Tiana had great visions of what Tiana's Palace would be like if she just kept working hard. At the La Bouff's Ball, everyone became big fans of Tiana's specialties. The Fenner brothers who sold the sugarmill to Tiana later told her she was outbid by a man who had offered to pay the full price for it and as they suggested she should just give up on hoping to buy it, Tiana fell back into the food table as she tried to get them to listen to her. Being spattered and covered in jam and pies, Charlotte in her huge poofy pink ballgown, stopped dancing with the Prince came to Tiana's aid, giving her a beautiful blue ballgown and a matching tiara. Although she looked radiat, Tiana felt crushed and heartbroken that her dream was going to be taken away when she had been so close to achieving it. Hoping it would help in any kind of way, Tiana wished hard upon the brightest star in the sky, clutching the picture of her invisioned restuarant to her chest.
That's when the the most unexpected thing hopped into her life. A frog sat a foot away from her on the balcony. At first she took it as some kind of joke from the wishing star, but when the green little thing actually opened its slimy lips and spoke to her, she completly lost her senses. The frog gave her a moment or two to compose herself, and let her hit him with a decent sized storybook when he explained to her that he was really not a frog at all. He introduced himself charmingly as Prince Naveen of Maldonia and told her he had been turned into a frog by an evil witch doctor. She was about to hit him again out of disbelief when he grabbed the book from her hands and told her he had read it before as a young prince. After flipping through the pages a few times and seeing Tiana wearing a tiara, the frog believed she was a real princess and told her that she must kiss him to turn him back into a Prince. He then lied told her he would give her the money she needed in order to buy her the restuarant she'd always dreamed of Tiana agreed and after a fit of squirming, she got up the courage to land a big kiss on the frog's warty lips.
Then, in a poof of bright light and sparkling dust, everything looked bigger. Tiana looked up at Naveen still on the counter, except way up above her. She turned to see herself in a mirror, except only turning to see a small, green, slimey frog. When Naveen failed to explain how she had turned into a frog like him, she takled him and both went rolling off the balcony, right into the middle of the La Bouff's Ball. While causing complete chaos and escaping perril everywhere, they managed to escape the party by grabbing a hold of some ballons that then took flight off into the rainy night sky. There was a brief verbal brawl better the two frogs and that was when Naveen found out the reason why the spell hadn't broken was because Tiana was a waitress, not a princess and Tiana found out Naveen was not a rich prince at all, in fact, he was completely broke! Both debated and went through a long night of escaping the grasp of all kinds of predators like catfish, storks, and gators until sunlight broke through the treehole they had hidden in. Shortly after their start on the journey back to New Orleans, they met a loveable and dopey jazz playing gator named Loius who agreed to take them to a mysterious Mamma Odie who supposedly had the right voodo to turn Naveen and Tiana back into humans. He only agreed to take them to her through the dangerous swamp area when he realized he could become human too and then play jazz "with the big boys" without scaring people off. So, Tiana went with Naveen and Louis through the swamp and suprisingly they met a funny little firefly named Ray (full name Raymond) after the both of them tried to eat him. He and his many firefly relatives hepled guide Tiana, Naveen and Raymond through the bayou. Ray joined their group on their adventures, where along the way Tiana and Naveen were almost captured by swamp hunters, Tiana got Naveen off his rump and sucessful taught him to mince mushrooms and met Ray's true love, Evangeline. They were a little taken aback to discover she wasn't a firefly at all but the same wishing star Tiana had wished upon as a little girl many time before. Ray serenaded his love as Naveen taught Tiana how to dance under Evangeliene's glowing light. Suddenly, Naveen was grabbed by some voodoo shadow and was being dragged away when a blast of golden light vanquished the demon.
Mamma Odie, a little old blind witch, had come to their rescue and led them back to her treehouse where she told the three to find out what they really needed in life in a very outspoken way of her own. She informed them that they need to get Charlotte to kiss Naveen before the stroke of midnight or they would stay frogs forever. So on the way back to New Orleans, Naveen suprised Tiana with a romantic dinner to try and propose to her and admit his feelings to her. Of course she had no idea he was about to propose, she went she stared talking about her dream of Tiana's Palace again, Naveen put the ring aside and promised to make her dreams come true, no matter what. Raymond later spilled the beans and told Tiana of Naveen's plan to marry her instead of Charlotte and she finally realized what she really needed in life. It was Naveen that would really make her dreams come true. But, something looked like it horribly wrong she she spotted Naveen, in human form, standing with Charlotte and getting married to her in the middle of the Mardi Graw Parade. Broken- hearted and still a frog, she hopped off to cry in the graveyard. After sheding a few tears for a while, Raymond appeared suddenly with a voodoo talisman and explained that a shadow man had used it to turn Lawrence, Naveen's servant, into the prince. She ran through the graveyard, avoiding the shadows until she met the shadow man face to face. Dr. Falicier briefly turned her into her human self again, using her dreams of Tiana's Palace against her to get the talisman from her. In the end, Tiana used her froggy instincts to destroy the talisman and drive Dr. Facilier to his grave...or so she thinks for now. Shortly after, she confessed her love to Naveen, and he confessed his as well. Charlotte was so moved by the acts of true love she agreed to kiss Naveen without a marrige after in order to keep the couple together as humans. But it was too late, and when Charlotte kissed Naveen on his froggy lips, nothing hapopened and both he and Tiana stayed frogs. Louis came running along, bringing the dying Ray bundled up in his hands. It turned out Ray and been stepped on by Dr. Facilier in the graveyard. He looked up at his friends and his shining star love one last time and peacefuly passed on as the rain began to fall down on New Orleans.
The next morning a funeral was held for Ray and he was drifted off into the waters of the bayou on a little tree leaf by his relatives. Tiana cried softly at the sight of her friend drifting away, but as soon as she looked up she saw a new wishing star in the sky, brighter than ever, placed right next to Evangeline and lighting up the whole sky with double the starshine. Mamma Odie came down into the bayou that afternoon to marry together Naveen and Tiana and when Prince Naveen kissed her, Tiana opened her eyes she saw her human form dressed in a green wedding dress saw Naveen standing before her in his human form dressed for their wedding as well. Mamma Odie helped explain that when they had married each other, Naveen had kissed himself a princess which had made them human again. Of course, when they got back to New Orleans, they had a huge human wedding, with both Eudora and Naveen's mother and father there along with Charlotta and Big Daddy LaBouff. Both Tiana and her new husband bought out the sugarmill with the help of Naveen's royal parents and finally built the crown jewel of New Orleans that is now Tiana's Palace. Every night there are people from all over tasting the couple's food and listening to Louis and Naveen blaring jazz music out every window. Tiana even gets to serve her mamma every night as well . With two new bright stars in the sky to watch over them, Tiana and Naveen have finally settled into their happily ever after and Tiana's Palace will live on for many years to come.

what makes this character unique: Tiana is truely unlike any Disney girl I've seen. She has a strong willed determination about her that I really admire. She keeps her dreams close to her her and never dreams of the fairytale of meeting her perfect prince charming. Although she's happy she does meet him in the end, she never worried herself with love because she already knew deep in her hear what she wanted. Then she goes from being a dedicated hard worker to a playful and down to earth girl who finds out she needs love to make her dreams complete. I fell in love with this character and I will do my best to put myself in this role as best as I can.
RP SAMPLE: ---- Brrrrrrrring. Brrrrrrrrring. Brrrrriiiiiinnnngggggg! SLAM. Another long night and what a night it was. She could actually still hear dippermouth blues playing over and over again in her head as he eyes slightly opened and tried to get adjusted to the morning light peeking through the windows of her bedroom. She yawned sleepily as she expected to hear the thudding noise of Louis running in to help get the Tiana's Palace set up and ready for the big crowds expected to be rolling in again tonight, like they were the night before. She knew the sun was shining and she couldn't stay in the comfort of her warm bed forver, so with every inch of her body still sore from all the dancing that she had done the night before, Tiana rolled over to the other side sleepily and with a great yawn she smiled put her arm around Naveen. "Mornin' bab-" There was no Naveen. His side was empty and he was gone. Where could he have gone off to? That's when she noticed something a little more strange. Where had the color to her hand gone..the colorful way thing usually were around thier room was dull and faded. Everything seemed more defined and detailed as her honey brown eyes gazed around her. The green wallpaper looked different, the dressers, the closet. Something was wrong and she could see it around her..what happened?
It only took her a minute or two to throw on one of her simple summer dresses and quickly step out from the home she and Naveen had made behind Tina's Palace. She made her way along the dark corridors, winded through the shadowed hallways and her heart began to beat louder in her chest as she shuddered at the very thought of what could be creeping in the shadows. Everything seemed so ghostly with one one around. The wholehall was like one ginat dark abyss with not even an echo of any sound vibration of the walls. Suddenly,, as she turned her head, Tiana caught a small glipse of something shining in the back hallway. Tiana always hated that hallways because it lead to the creepy back alley behind Tiana's Palace which was not really the safewst place to be in the city of New Orleans during anyttime of day.But as the sliver of sunlight shone throught, her gut told her that it was better to find out what was going on outside than staying inside this empty ghosttwon of a restaraunt at the moment. She was also curious where her husband had slipped off to on what would usually be a sleepy morning.
Tiana carefully follwed the hallway all the way until she got to the door from which the sun light peeked through. She cautiously lifted one hand and began to turn the door knob until the door opened and let in a ray of sunshine so bright and new to her that her eyes had to squint as soon as she put one foot out the doorway. As her eyes became more adjusted to sun light, she noticed how defined and strange everything looked. Not to mention, she didn't recongnize anything in sight. Birds sang out as she looked around her, seeing a long row of white, gold and red among each uilding down the street. Little stuffed mouse animals were piled up in the windows across the way. Not really wanting to go back inside, Tiana stepped outside the door and slowly closed it behind her.
She walked down the cocclestone path, passing a bakery, art shop and many stores. Tiana thought it resembles New Orleans in a little bit, buit still was different and had a strange empoty feeling to it.Every shop captivated her, selling things she didn't think she would've ever imagined to be sold anywhere. What kind of people would come here? She felt lonely as she walked alog the empty street, further and further until something standing in the middle made her stop and stare. There in the middle of the path stood a large stature and she was throughly confused as she looked upon the statue of a older man and an oversized mouse holding his hand and standing by his side This is all getting too wierd..what is this place? That's when something else happened to catch her eye. Off to the side of the stature stood an abandoded cart. Tiana came a little closer wondering who might've walked off an left the cart full of merchandise behind. It was a very careless thing to do and as she could see before her, whoever it was and left a mess of stuffed anmals fallen off the side of the cart. Rolling her eyes, the girl kneeled down to pick up each animal, the parrot, the clown fish, and the frog...the frog? Tiana's eyes looked over the stuffed toy again..it was her. Speechless and clearly frightened, Tiana dropped the stuffed version of herself. "Hello!? Is anyone out here!? " she called out but got no response back. "Whoever you people are who's doing this..I'm going to find where you've Naveen and Louis, and when I do, you're gonna be sorry, you hear!" she called out, feeling a mix of fear and determination in the pit of her stomach. Then, she stopped her hard breathing to listen. Over the hill in the other direction she could hear..laughter. Being prepared for anything, Tiana set off in the direction of where she heard the sound coming from, plunging headfirst into this strange, empty and unknown world.
