age: Unkown
species: Black panther
birthplace: Oodeypore, India
movie: The Jungle Book and The Jungle Book 2
title:
India's Finest Black Panther
why: I've always loved the Jungle Book, especially in the Disney movies how they have captured the imagery of India's jungles so well. And Bagheera, he seems so mysterious yet everyone knows him. He just seems like a really interesting and fun character to role play.

charrie appearance[/ul]
facial description/mood expressions: Bagheera usually has a calm, expressionless face, hardly showing any emotion when he doesn't want to. His black fur covers his face as well, but a slightly lighter shade of black fur covers his muzzle. Disney depicted his eyes to have a yellow iris, a colour often seen in felines.
When Bagheera is angered though, his mouth will pull up into a snarl, his eyes turning into furious slits. Basically looking like a monster on the prowl. When happy, his face will loosen up, allowing small smiles, or sometimes sly grins.

original charrie analysis.[/ul]
history: Bagheera was originally born in captivity in a menagerie of the Oodeypore, India. Happily living as a young cub, he was very different from how he is today, he was care free and reckless, always diving head first into plans he sometimes didn't think through. His mother took care of him well and so did his care takers, a life he took for granted without even knowing it. When Bagheera was now no longer an innocent little cub, his mother passed away from an unknown disease passed on from the humans of the village. That's when he started looking for escape. Bagheera no longer thought of the menagerie as a heaven on earth, he thought of captivity as an evil place, a place where animals didn't belong. Finally after hard work and many days of frusturation, he manages to break the lock on his cage door and runs free into the shadows of the jungle. His bravery and cunning mind gives him respect from the inhabitants of the jungle, soon, they all knew his name and reputation for being fierce and intelligent. Everyone respected him except for Shere Khan the cruel tiger of course. As Bagheera matured in the quiet jungle, he grew stronger than ever, sly and sneaky in the darkness with his black coat. He finds Mowgli as a baby later, and takes him under his wing. But he soon finds a wolf pack, willing to nurture Mowgli until he's old enough to survive on his own. In the ten years after he met Mowgli, Bagheera had nothing important happen to him. When he does find Mowgli again with Baloo, he helps take care of Mowgli and teach him with Baloo about the jungle. Bagheera plays a role in almost all of Mowgli's adventures and over time the two grew a strangely strong bond, and Mowgli and Bagheera have become good friends since the day he found him as a young toddler.
ambitions: Keeping Mowgli safe for as long as he can, keeping the jungle safe for all it's residents, making sure that humanity doesn't pose a threat to the jungle and the jungle doesn't pose a threat to humanity. He plans to work on these ambitions for as long as he lives.

what makes this character unique: Bagheera is so protective and determined, much more than most other Disney characters. There's also something about his sly smile and pure black coat that makes you want to either cower in fear or reach out to pet him. All in all, he is a unique character both physically and behaviourally.
RP SAMPLE:
Bagheera slinked through the undergrowth, the green plants brushing at his tail and belly. Nothing was going on right then, nothing to do, nothing to amuse him. Boring. Sighing, he allowed himself to make noise, now thrashing through the greenery loudly he didn't have to focus all his attention on being quiet. Thinking about Mowgli and his wonderfully amusing times with Baloo, it just made him even more upset. Why couldn't it be like old times again? Just the three of them venturing through the unexplored areas of the vast, mysterious jungle and having a good time. Those were the days. His tail dragged on the ground, what he did when he didn't want to hide his misery. Pushing back a wet, fern-like plant Bagheera came across the spot where he'd first met Mowgli, the spot where their friendship had first begun. But now Mowgli was gone, living happily in a human village as a man. Turning away from the area in remorse he shook his black head slightly. That was what he had wanted. For Mowgli to be safe and sound with humans of his own kind, nothing to threaten him or make him unhappy. But with that decision, he hadn't realized how lonely it was without him. How utterly boring his life was without Baloo and Mowgli at his side. It was strange not hearing Baloo's constant chattering, even though they had taken seperate paths long ago. Bagheera had to admit it, he was better off with others' company.[/ul][/ul]
