Tucked away in a small cove, just a little off the main Pangani Forest trail path, Jasmine stared into the murky, auzure depths of a large glass fronted pool, her dark eyes following the jittery, darty movements made by a small school of silver fish with bemused content, their rainbow scales sparkling brightly in the refracted light. Somehow it reminded her of her little garden back home, though on a much larger scale with much more water then she’d ever seen in her life. The fish looked like the were dressed with diamonds as they swished backwards and forwards in the current, her mind so concentrated on their graceful dance that it downed out the loud rumble of voices which came form the people stood around her, admiring the fish with much more excited voices then her own quiet contemplation.
It was beautiful here, she felt somewhat peaceful as she continued to watch the fish swim to and fro, moving with the churning water as it poured into the pool from a small waterfall which cascaded down form the rocks overhead. She must have been stood there for a while now but she didn’t care, Allah knew how long she was going to be in this palace, she could explore the rest of the trail later if she wanted but for now she was happy simply watching the weaving fish.
Somewhere in the closely grouped trees above her chirped all kinds of birds, some high pitched, some sweetly melodious, some chattering fast and others squawking slowly every now and then, an entirely natural harmony finished off by the roaring waterfall and the waves it created as they lapped gently against the rocks. To her left was a constant stream of bubbles and buried in the murky depths, were hollowed logs, strange plants that drifted in the current and shiny pebbles glittering mischievously at the bottom.
A soft smile played across her plump lips and she rested a russet skinned hand on the cool glass, chuckling slightly as a few curious fish swam over to her before retreating swiftly back into the school. Yes she defiantly liked it here, there was a sweet smell in the air, probably from the Orchids which grew wildly amongst the vibrant greenery and coupled with the hazy sunlight, which dappled everything in a soft golden yellow, made for an almost perfect heaven. Perfect, that was until unannounced guests made their presence known.
