why: The gypsy dancer, La Esmeralda has been an inspiration to me since I was a child and seeing her on the big screen at the age of six. Because of this fiery dancer, I have taken much from her personality and added it to my own as I have grown up. She is an inspiration on how to treat people and that being independent is just as beautiful as any Disney Princess! She has inspired me to keep dancing and has become a part of the reason who I am today. Esmeralda is not just a Disney heroine, shes my muse and inspiration to be a better person in the years to come.

charrie appearance[/ul]
facial description/mood expressions: Blessed with a very defined face, Esmeralda has high cheek bones which shape her face to one of long and oval, but not chubby. Her face is that of a proud gypsy woman, and her eyes are filled with adventure and a little bit of mystery; it is easy to get lost in them. She also has full, dark lips, giving her a very exotic appeal to this enchanting siren.
clothing style:The Queen of the Gypsies is often seen wearing very colorful, eye catching clothes, which make her stand out from the rest of the women in Paris' crowded city streets. Dressed with a creamy white, off the shoulder top, which is complimented with a forest green corset, with yellowy gold wires to keep its shape around the dancers tiny waist.
A lilac skirt that falls just to her ankles is complimented by a royal purple sash with gold coins hanging around the edges of the sash, is the final touch to this enchanting gypsy. A bright pink sash is often seen in the curls of her dark hair, however once a year during the Festival of Fools is this siren often seen dressed in a fiery red, form fitting dress, with a purple sash wrapped around her waist, and a golden tiara, fitted with two rubies completes her festive apparel.
Adorned with three gold bangles on her left wrist, one on her right, and one on her right ankle, it is completed with a single gold hoop in her right ear.
body build: From dancing, running from Frollo and his men, her build his strong, leans, but very feminine and curvy. Long slender arms and legs, with a hourglass shaped body. Her muscles are not butch or very predominant, but they can be felt when she attacks out of self defense, and they can been seen especially in her legs when she dances in the streets for coins. Out of all the parts of her body, Esmeralda's legs are the most toned and deadly to get in contact with.
any unique traits (optional):Esmeralda has very captivating green eyes which contrast with her dark hair. Her eyes show wisdom, strength, and also mischief, while her dark hair often dances around her shoulders even if she is only walking.
With sun kissed dark skin, Esmeralda is an eye catching woman, and her figure of an hourglass has men looking!

original charrie analysis. (everything must be in your own words! please be thorough.)[/ul]
A little flirty and cheeky, Esmeralda knows how to use her charm to get out of trouble. Able to look past others outside appearances, she can often see the inner beauty and quality of a person, though they themselves may not realize it. Very self sacrificing, Esmeralda would do anything to protect those dear to her, even if it means her life is given doing so. Independent, quick witted, and very charming, Esmeralda is a light in the lives of all she touches, and is never afraid to stand up for what she believes in.
history: There is a line of mystery in the history of this enticing gypsy, but this is what is known....Esmeralda was born already into the life of poverty, wither it was along the shores of the Nile in Egypt as some have said, or in the lush hills of Spain, she was already a light in the lives of the men and women she met. At a tender age of five, she discovered her love of dancing as she traveled along the forever winding road with her family, creating camps here and there to support their native lifestyle. However it was all turned to darkness in the young child's life when her family was attacked by bandits, leaving her an orphan in a world she did not yet understand. Fate is always planning and winding new roads, and it was fate that brought Esmeralda into the arms of her now adoptive brother, Clopin Trouillefou. There she lived with him, learning more about her gypsy heritage, and earning a piece of his heart which would be hers forever; a bond of sibling love though they were not bound by blood, but by spirit.
Esmeralda arrived with Clopin into Paris when she was sixteen, and it was at this time that she had already developed streets skills beyond that of Clopin's, and began to see mans cruelty for one another. Green eyes took in the distrust, judgment and hate that dwelled within the hearts of men, and vowed that she would never allow herself to fall into such a state of darkness.
The guards of Paris had become cruel and corrupt under the command of a man named, Judge Claude Frollo, who seemed to hate gypsies of all races. Through many close encounters with his guards, Esmeralda never met him though she often feared this man of power, but Esmeralda would never admit it to anyone.
Days turned into months, and months into years, and soon the once bright eyed Esmeralda was now a woman with eyes that now bore wisdom and a mysterious look to them. To support her people who turned to see and Clopin to lead them as the Queen and King of the gypsies, Esmeralda continued to dance in the streets to earn money, but it is not only for money she dances; she dances because it is the beat of her heart, and the blood in her veins.
She is a gypsy, and as such her life is often met with trials and obstacles to live with the freedom that she and her friends deserve, but it has not diminished her hope that one day, someday soon, that all men and women will be treated with the same regard, respect and love.
Upon dancing in the streets on the morning of the Festival of Fools, Esmeralda's life forever changed upon meeting a man with hair like the sun's rays, and eyes of angelic blue. Phoebus, the new Captain of the Guards. Though he had helped her when two guards tried to steal her hard earned money, a smart gypsy never trusted a solider, so she kept her heart closed to Phoebus, though she could not deny there was instant attraction.
It seemed it went both ways; Esmeralda happened to be one of the main events during the Festival of Fools, and during her sultry dance, her eyes met with his own and she smiled, however as if wanting to make a fool of Frollo, Esmeralda danced we way over to him, and slipping into his lap did she place a kiss on the tip of his crooked nose. It had been the worst mistake of her life.
During the Crowning of the King of Fools, there was a face she remembered that bore a mask which was sure to win! It was Quasimodo, the deformed bell ringer of Notre Dame, yet the kind gypsy did not realize it was his face! When it would not come off, Esmeralda exposed him to the crowd, and yet he was greeted by smiles and cheers. Feeling as though she had done something good, the gypsy slipped away from the stage, but soon once happy cheers turned into mocking tones of hate and bitterness.
It was then Esmeralda came to the Pillory, and defying Frollo's orders, released Quasimodo from his bonds, defending not only him, but those outcast like her. Rousing his anger was not wise, but Esmeralda had lived in the shadows long enough, and would not stand for it not longer! Defeating ten of his men, Esmeralda slipped into Notre Dame to claim sanctuary, where the law, and Frollo could not touch her.
It was there that Phoebus and Esmeralda had a moment together and she realized that he was not like the other soldiers; perhaps there was hope yet! It all ended too soon when Frollo found her, threatened her, and bound her to staying behind the stone walls of Notre Dame. Realizing then that a sick infatuation was in Frollo's heart, Esmeralda knew that she would have to be more careful, but that did not mean she would not try to escape.
Within Notre Dame did Esmeralda pray for the first time, asking the Son of God to help the outcasts; they needed protection as well....or was it only given to those of money and power?
There she was reintroduced to Quasimodo, and they soon became close friends; both of them were prisoners in their own way, and Esmeralda was able to bring him out of his shell, to show him that he was no monster as Frollo called him, but a man. With their new found friendship did Quasimodo help Esmeralda escape Notre Dame, where she then hurried back to the Court of Miracles.
News the next morning reached her ears that Frollo had learned of her escape and was now searching with ruthless determination to find her! Stealing into the streets under cloak and disguise, Esmeralda came upon the Millers family and watched as Phoebus defied Frollo, and saved the family from their burning house which Frollo himself had lit.
For his bravey, Phoebus by Frollo's orders was sentence to die, yet distracting Frollo long enough, Esmeralda threw a rock which connected with the backside of the horse, giving Phoebus a chance to escape...but was shot in the back.
Rescuing him, and bringing the Sun God to Notre Dame, it was there under the watchful eyes of Quasimodo did Esmeralda and Phoebus share their kindling love for each other, and kissed.
Asking of Quasimodo to watch over Phoebus, Esmeralda returned to the Court of Miracles, only to find they follow her to not only warn her, but the rest of her people of Frollo's attack on their home! While they had begun to leave, they were caught and arrested by the Judge and his men.
There in the center of the square, in front of Notre Dame was Esmeralda tied to a stake, and charged for witchcraft. Denying Frollo his 'kind offer', Esmeralda said nothing but spit into the face of the man she despised, and it was there that the fire lit the kindle around her feet.
Quasimodo came and saved Esmeralda and protected Notre Dame, while Frollo slipped in, and high above all Paris did Frollo try and kill both she and Quasimodo, but his reign of terror ends when he slips on the gargoyle he balanced on, and fell into the fires of his own creation.
Now reunited with Phoebus, she remains ever close to Quasimodo and loves him dearly as a friend can.

what makes this character unique: Esmeralda does not require a man to help her, which is very uncommon with Disney heroines even today. She is the first one to have all THREE main characters after her! Esmeralda is a very carefree person, but her temper can change to fit the situations shes is in, and despite her age, Esmeralda can act very childish when it comes to teasing guards! She respects everyone with equal love and respect, and despite the norm of the city, Esmeralda is NOT afraid to stand up for what she believes in, even if she is the only one standing.
RP SAMPLE: ----
He was right of course in this case, he had done all those lovely deeds for her and in the end she still thought of him as nothing as a cruel and dangerous man, who on a whim could snap and change his entire personality. Esmeralda did not turn around when he left and stood there, holding the bundle of clothes to her as if it were a shield against everything Frollo had said, and what his eyes said. No matter how hard she tried, Esmeralda could not push past the fact that he was the reason so many of her people died in a cold cellar alone, and without any mercy. It was burned into her skull and her soul on how her people were treated, and not one week could change how she despised him.
Yes, she would admit there were moments when he would treat her as a decent human being in his eyes, but there were other times when she could just see the look in his eyes like he did in Notre Dame. There was lust and desire in them which she knew would never be sated until he got what he wanted. After wards she would be tossed out like a common lady of the night. There could be no love within Frollo, he was mixing it with desire and using love as an excuse. There was no doubt in the gypsies mind however that he did love once and that the death of her was enough to scar him for life.
What had his love seen in him the first time they met? He could not be the cruel man he was now...there must have been something good about him, that was enough to have any woman fall in love. Esmeralda herself could not see it, but there was a small part of her that wondered what kind of man he was before all this...there was a certain gentle quality hidden beneath his cold exterior, and she had bared witness to it when he was nuzzling Phantom. For a split second there was no hate, no look of disgust and coldness...just a genuine warmth long forgotten.
What had caused her to think of anything kind of Frollo? What was this odd feeling she never expected to feel...ah, guilt. Esmeralda felt guilty for making Frollo ticked when he had taken care of her more then once...darn!
"This is turning into one of Clopin's drama's." Esmeralda scolded herself and tried to think of something, anything else that would not make her think of the building guilt in her gut. He had been angry with her for bringing up memories of the past and forgetting the deeds of good he had bestowed upon her. Guilt was an interesting thing; it could either gnaw at the soul of the one feeling it, or it could be brushed aside without a single care of the damage it inflicted upon the other person. In this case, it was chewing the gypsy dancer up inside.
Changing back into her original gypsy attire, Esmeralda sat down in the chair as she crossed her bare arms, pondering many thoughts and questions...and she thought long into the festivities, until she could see the setting sun peek through the flaps of her tent. She had wasted away in the tent thinking and brooding over matters which should not matter! Frollo was going to be cold and cruel until the day he left Gods green earth...so why was she hoping to be shown different?
Marie had told her that change would have to come from them both if there was ever to be peace between them, but at the present time Esmeralda doubted that there ever would be peace again between she and the minister of justice. But there as hope, a fools hope...but now Esmeralda knew that somehow in her own time, her wall around her hate and displeasure for Frollo would have to slowly come down brick by brick, stone by stone, and pebble by pebble...she would have to allow him into herself to change the course of history between the gypsies and the soldiers. If she could open her heart to some of his ways and knowledge, there would have to be the same coming from him...he would change...and so would she.
Standing up from the chair, Esmeralda had a new sense of peace and outlook on the twist of fate which had been bestowed upon her; God worked in mysterious ways and there was always a reason, a connection to why things would play out as they did. God was an amazing magician; He could show you things you want to see, and hide away all which is needed to see.
A gentle smile graced her features, as the loud boisterous drunks now made their way through the streets of Paris, and Esmeralda knew that it was time to return to the Palace of Justice where she would ask Frollo for...forgiveness. If Clopin were here, she knew she would have gotten the earful of a lifetime, but it was the right thing to do, and Esmeralda always followed her instincts...they never led her astray.
The walk to the Palace was a quick journey, and soon she was met with the familiar stone steps and walls as she pushed the door open and was greeted by Maire. Funny, she always showed up at the right times...perhaps there was a little gypsy magic within her! "Marie, I am looking for the minister, have you any idea where he is?" She was then told that he had not yet returned to the Palace, and she nodded her head in understanding. She would wait for him to return then. Making her way through one of the longest, and largest hallways of the Palace of Justice, Esmeralda found Frollo's chambers easily and cracked open the door to see if anyone was in it. No one. Softly closing the door behind her, Esmeralda made her way to the largest desk she had ever seen in her life, and sat down behind it; Frollo would return soon.
