What was this feeling? Well, she certainly wasn't at home; there wouldn't be sand beneath her torso if she were in bed with Triton in the Atlantica palace. Where, then, was she?
Athena rolled herself over onto her back, tail splashing in the shallow water. Hmm, it seemed that she was laying on a beach, her upper body on the said, while her tail was still in the water. She pushed herself into a sitting position, blinking in the bright sunlight. This was no beach she recognized, and she knew every inch of sand within 100 miles of Atlantica.
Oh no! Her family!
Without another thought as to where she was, Athena launched herself into the water, swimming frantically for the bottom. Which she reached all too soon. This was not the ocean.
She was in a completely different place, and who knew what had happened to her girls, to Triton, to their people. Had the pirates managed to snare some of them? Had they escaped? Were they all right?
Suddenly chilled to the bone despite the relative warmth of the water, Athena pulled herself onto a large, sun-baked rock near the water's edge. She took a deep breath to calm herself; it wouldn't do to lose her composure when she wasn't sure who or what was around.
Pulling her tail to her chest, she hugged it to her, trying to figure out what in ocean she was going to do.
Before she realized it, her tail was completely dry.
With a sigh, she unwound her arms from around her legs and--wait a moment. Legs?! Dear Poseidon, what was happening to her?! First she was spirited away from her family and now, legs!
There was a sound nearby, and Athena looked up to see one of the thinnest beings she had ever seen, under the ocean or elsewhere.
((OOC: Yes, so I'm recycling part of my earlier post, but, hey, that was how she first arrived!))
