After finding himself completely not in his own castle ( everything looked too fancy), Fergus had thought that going "outside" and having a look about clear up the confusion; it only made it worse. Everywhere were strange things and strange people.
The king soon spotted a lad looking about the age of the clan leaders' sos and so old enough to be knowledgeable about the place perhaps .
"Hey! You there, lad..." Fergus started over towards the boy at an almost run. Noticing him, and his eyes going a bit wider, the teen soon darted off. Well that was uncalled for!
Turning and looking about himself once more, Fergus tried to take in where he was, but again couldn't make heads or tails of it.
This would not do. It was important that a king maintain control at all times and be a pillar of strength for his kingdom. One important aspect of that was at least knowing where he was and where his kingdom was!
Fergus had been over his lands many times. He knew the structure of even what could be called "distant" parts well enough to know that this was not it...
Then where, by the great first of the Dunbrock clan, was he?!
Added to that, where was his family? Still safe at home perhaps? The king tried to figure out if this would be a good prospect. It would for them. He was just slightly hoping it wasn't so due to his own selfish hesitance to feel the aloneness that would present.
He would no doubt qualify for another of Elinor'a talks on ruling unselfishly, as he had when uniting the clans; and honestly he wouldn't mind the lecture so much as if he were receiving it it would mean she was here with him. And the children? For varying reasons they all needed an eye kept on them...well ok not always...well the boys sort of did.
Fergus shook his head. Well standing in the middle of this oddly cleared track of road wasn't going to help him figure any of this out; he best get on about exploration which was the only real way to find out anything.
